We are committed to supporting the efforts of the Official March for Science movement and providing a platform for your voice to be heard. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policy makers to enact evidence based policies in the public interest. > We accept the following as provisionally true: *The Earth is becoming warmer due to human action. *The diversity of life arose by evolution. *An American government that ignores science to pursue ideological agendas threatens not only the environment of which humans are a part, but America itself. *Scientific research in the United States is underfunded. *Politicians who devalue expertise risk making decisions that do not reflect reality. > Who can participate: Anyone who believes in empirical science. > 11:00 pm at Main Terrain Art Park

Please remember to dress appropriately for weather conditions and to bring a bottle of water. This tour will visit several locations within the battlefield exploring what participants of the battle heard, touched, smelled, tasted, and saw in 1863. For example, one soldier described the sound of the battle as “this terrible sound” while another compared it to the “roar of a thousand Niagaras.” Still, others smelled the burning forests and fields, tasted bitter black powder, and felt the fall of branches, seeing things that would haunt them for the remainder of their lives. Combat is an assault on the senses and Chickamauga was no different.> 2:00 pm
