Picnic in the Passageways – May 12 > Hosted by River City Company > Have lunch in Grass Garden Inversion (730 Cherry Street) every Friday in May with food trucks, music and fun activities. Picnic in the Passageways will be held every Friday in May from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m with bright bistro seating for a unique lunchtime experience in Downtown Chattanooga. On May 12th, enjoy food from I Love Tacos, music by bluegrass musician Randy Steele and a paper garland fabricated selfie booth by Chattanooga Public Library. A Noodles and Fried Spring Rolls Sampling > Hosted by Calamansi Cafe at Chattanooga WorkSpace > We are having a Lumpia and Pancit Sampling event as we promote and help fundraise for our Kiva loan campaign. We’ve found a space now we need to get the funding in place! Stop in and get yourself a sample of Filipino celebration food while you learn about our campaign and how Kiva is helping to get Calamansi Cafe on the map. Lumpia – Deep fried crispy spring rolls with ground beef, french cut green beans, carrots, garlic, and onions. Mountain to Town Bike Adventure > Hosted by Outdoor Chattanooga > Mountain to Town is a guided downhill mountain bike adventure that highlights the scenic trails atop Lookout Mountain and how they connect to the Tennessee Riverwalk all the way to downtown Chattanooga. Join Outdoor Chattanooga for this all-inclusive, beginner friendly adventure, which begins with a shuttle ride to the top of Lookout Mountain. Our experienced guide staff will provide ride support and instruction during the downhill ride. Use one of our new mountain bikes or use your own. Our mobile mountain bike fleet is provided by Ironman Foundation and Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga. Enjoy breathtaking views of the city while cruising down the beginner-friendly Guild Trail, comprised of tightly packed gravel, until it connects with the paved trails of the Tennessee Riverwalk in St. Elmo. From there, the scenic and leisurely paced bike ride will continue along the shores of the Tennessee River back into downtown where we started the adventure at Outdoor Chattanooga in Coolidge Park. Participants will descend nearly 1,500 ft and only climb 340’ over the 13-mile ride. Ride time is approximately 2 hours. This family-friendly adventure is appropriate for ages 12 and up. Riders must be able to independently ride, shift, maneuver, and operate a bike with hand brakes, listen and follow instructions and be able to make decisions quickly while moving at higher speeds in order to participate in this adventure. *Reservations required in advance as space is limited. Play Day: Got Milk? > Hosted by Hidden Hills Farm & Saddle Club > This month we are going to highlight the cows! Of course, you can also enjoy pony rides, chickens, the sandbox, and just running around! Here’s what to expect: 1. Take a pony ride! We always have a couple of our favorite horses/ponies out to ride on! 2. Enjoy the extra activity: milking a cow! 3. Make a little take-home craft–for the creative ones out there! 4. Play! Chickens, sandbox, dirt, wide open spaces–for just being a kid on the farm. 5. Expect to get dirty, especially if it has rained recently! Also, dress for the weather. You might consider a change of clothes and a plastic bag–just in case! 6. Bring a picnic lunch, if you’d like! Lay out a blanket and enjoy being outside. 7.
